The EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) has applied since 13 December 2024. It requires that, before buying, you can see who manufactured a product and what you need to look out for when using it. We show both on every product page in the Product safety section.

What the regulation requires

Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on general product safety replaces the old General Product Safety Directive. For online sales, Article 19 requires an offer to show four things before purchase: the manufacturer with postal and email address; for manufacturers outside the EU, additionally a responsible person in the EU; information identifying the product, including a picture; and warnings and safety information in the language of the country in which it is sold.

Who the manufacturer is

KORNDEX is a brand of Custom-Automotive GmbH. Anyone who places a product on the market under their own name or trade mark is considered the manufacturer under Article 3(8) GPSR. For all items of the own brand KORNDEX, the manufacturer is therefore:

Custom-Automotive GmbHIndustriestraße 2263517 RodenbachGermanyinfo@customwheel.de

If we stock an item from another brand, its manufacturer is shown on the product page concerned – and, if it is based outside the EU, the responsible person in the EU under Article 16 GPSR.

Warnings and safety information

The information on the product page depends on the type of product: abrasives, machines, personal protective equipment, guide coat and masking materials involve different hazards. It does not replace the instructions supplied with a tool – those apply in addition and take precedence in case of doubt.

As a basic rule when sanding: work with dust extraction; otherwise wear respiratory protection and safety glasses. How to do this in practice is explained in our guide Sanding dust, extraction and masks.

After use

Used abrasives, sanding dust, packaging and old machines do not all belong in the same bin. What goes where, and which appliances we take back, is explained under Disposal & take-back.

Reporting a safety defect

If you have noticed something about a product that could be dangerous, please report it to us – with the item number and, if possible, a photo. We follow up every report and, where necessary, inform the market surveillance authority and all customers who bought the item.

Recalls

There is currently no recall or safety warning for any product in our range. If there were, it would be published here and we would notify those affected immediately.
