FAQs about P100
What is P100 sandpaper used for?
Rough sanding: Remove saw marks on wood, the step up from P80. Typical for Wood.
Is P100 coarse or fine?
P100 belongs to the medium range (P100 to P180): shaping and levelling. The higher the number, the finer the grit.
Which grit comes after P100?
After P100 comes P120. Never more than double the number per step – that way the finer grit removes the scratches of the coarser one.
Should P100 be used wet or dry?
Dry, with dust extraction – up to about P600 that is the standard today: faster, and no water in the metal or wood. Mesh discs and multi-hole patterns stop P100 from clogging.
Which grit comes before P100?
Before P100, sand with P80 (or finer). Jump straight to P100 from too coarse a grit and you won't get the scratches out.
Not sure P100 is right?
The finder asks about material, machine and goal – and tells you the grit and product.
