FAQs about P180
What is P180 sandpaper used for?
Feathering / filler: Level filled areas, feather edges into the old paint. Typical for Car & paint, Wood, Metal, Plastic, Body filler.
Is P180 coarse or fine?
P180 belongs to the medium range (P100 to P180): shaping and levelling. The higher the number, the finer the grit.
Which grit comes after P180?
After P180 comes P220 or – from our range – P240. Never more than double the number per step – that way the finer grit removes the scratches of the coarser one.
Should P180 be used wet or dry?
Dry, with dust extraction – up to about P600 that is the standard today: faster, and no water in the metal or wood. Mesh discs and multi-hole patterns stop P180 from clogging.
Which grit comes before P180?
Before P180, sand with P120 (or finer). Jump straight to P180 from too coarse a grit and you won't get the scratches out.
